Teeth Whitening is the most widely performed cosmetic dental procedure, as it lightens a tooth’s natural color by several shades. It involves a bleaching process that can remove discolorations and stubborn stains from the teeth surfaces to guarantee a perfect and brighter smile.

To be precise, a dead tooth can also be whitened in a dental clinic, but the procedure differs from whitening a normal tooth.
As restorative appliances like dental bridges, dental crowns, and dental veneers are made of ceramic materials, the whitening agents are not functional. Hence dental restorations cannot be whitened with OTC products or in-office treatments.
The longevity of teeth whitening solutions depends on your lifestyle choices and how well you clean your teeth. For instance, if you consume dark foods & liquids excessively or smoke frequently, the tooth's brightness will fade and even become stained.
The whitening treatments should be done in moderation. Getting it done at least once a year is better to preserve your pearly white smile. Whitening your teeth frequently will lead to long-lasting teeth sensitivity.
